The Nassau County Traffic & Parking Violations Agency was closed for about six months at the onset of  the Covid - 19 pandemic and re-opened in October, 2021.   The Agency reduced its admission capacity to allow for social distancing. Cases are still heard by appointment only.  Few cases are being scheduled.   These factors together with staffing shortages during the Omicron variant outbreak have contributed to a long backlog of cases.
