0433556001697745833.jpgDid you or someone you know receive a Notice of Driver License or Driving Privilege Suspension?   The Notice is issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles when a Court or Traffic Agency notifies it that a driver has failed to answer a ticket or missed a court date.  You don't have to have a license for your driving privileges in New York State to be suspended.

If no action is taken at least one business day before the suspension date, the suspension will be recorded on the driver's driving record.  It currently costs $70 per ticket to clear a suspension*.  More importantly, the suspension i srecorded on your driving record.   This will likely trigger an auto insurance increase.  The suspension is automatically recorded on the driver's record as of 12:01 am on the suspension date.  So, it is urgent that action is taken to clear the suspension BEFORE the suspension date.   It takes at LEAST 5 business days from the time the Court or Agency notifies NYSDMV that the impending suspension is cancelled or cleared to be updated in its database.  So it is best to clear the suspension at least five business days BEFORE the suspension date.  This way, the driver does not appear to law enforcement to have suspended driving privileges.

The Nassau County Traffic & Parking Violations Agency and most traffic courts permit an attorney to appear on a driver's behalf for the purpose of having the suspension cleared.   So if you have to work, are scheduled for travel, care of another person, or have better things to do, I can do it for you, in most cases.
