DMV's NEW REGULATIONS include: :
increased points for some tickets issued on and after February 16, 2026.
11 DMV points for any moving violation conviction that occurs when a driver's license or privilege to drive is suspended.
Drivers who accumulate :
4-6 points within a 24 months period are subject to a DMV notice warning of future action if additional points are added.
7-10 points within a 24 months period may be required to attend a Driver Improvement Clinic. Failure to attend or successfully complete the clinic will result in license suspension.
A suspension or revocation hearing may be held for drivers who accumulate :
11 or more DMV points within a 24 months period:
9+ DMV points for speed convictions that occurred within a 24 months period;
3 or more moving violations involving dmv points received close in time; and
4+ additional points within 12 months following a suspension or revocation hearing.
